PDM VC delivers Keynote Address at GUJS&T

Prof A K Bakhshi, Vice-Chancellor PDM University was invited to deliver Keynote Address at the inaugural function of the two-day National Conference on Organics, Metalorganics and Thermodynamics held at Guru Jambeswar University for Science and Technology, Hisar on 17th November 2017. He spoke on Chemistry Education in the 21st Century. Speaking on the occasion Prof Bakhshi said that teaching should encourage thinking, innovation and creativity amongst the student. He lamented the fact that our education system does not challenge the minds of the students. He said that in the 21st century integration of technology with education is going to play a major role in enhancing the quality of education imparted to the students. He referred to the digital initiative of the Govt. of India and said that e-learning and MOOCs are going to prove a game changer in the context of higher education in India.

 

This conference has been organized under the auspices of Indian Thermodynamics Society. Also present on the occasion were Prof DVS Jain, President Indian Thermodynamics Society (ITS) and Chief Guest of the function, Prof. T S Banipal, General Secretary of ITS, Prof Tankehwar Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, GUJS&T and other dignitaries.
