PDMU VC at the World Education Summit 2018
Prof. (Dr.) A K Bakhshi, Vice-Chancellor PDM University was invited to chair the Panel Discussion at the 12th World Education Summit (WES) 2018 held in New Delhi on 9th August 2018. Noted educationists from various Higher Education Institutions participated in this panel discussion.
The main topic of discussion was : Experiential Learning: Meeting the changing behavior of student enrollment and the impact of technology and the Key Discussion Points included :
- Potential of MOOCs, Distance Education E-Learning, and Blended Learning in Higher Education
- Effectively combining educators, educator-curated ed-tech and Student Needs
- Changing Landscape of Student Enrollment and the way forward
Besides this, the discussion also focused on Transformative practices towards ensuring quality in higher education.
Prof. Bakhshi in his address said that ICT-integrated higher education offers a lot of advantages which will help in meeting the challenges of higher education. ICT will change the face of education in the country in the coming years. He also allayed the fears of teachers that ICT will replace them. ICT rather will empower the teachers. No technology can replace good teachers, said Prof. Bakhshi.
