Pharmacy Jobs in future: A Feast or a Famine


One day seminar was jointly organized on theme “Pharmacy Jobs in future: A Feast or a Famine” by PDM college of Pharmacy, PDM University and Society of Pharmaceutical Research & Education on 5th May 2017 at G-4 Hall, PDM Campus 09:30 onwards under the supreme guidance of Prof.(Dr.) Hema Chaudhary, Principal, PDM College of Pharmacy,Bahadurgarh.

The inauguration function started with the saraswati vandana by students followed by lamp  lightening ceremony by Guest’s of Honour Mr. D.C. Jain (M.D. Akums Drugs & Pharmaceuticals) and Mr. P. K. Gupta (M.D. Belco, Pharma,Bahadurgarh) along with special invitees Mr. Manmohan Taneja (Asst. Drugs Controller Officer, Haryana), Mr. Rakesh Dahiya (Senior Drugs Controller Officer, Haryana), Mr. Upender Nagaich ( Secretary, SPER), Prof.(Dr.) Milind Parle (Head of Pharmacology, G.J.U.S&T, Hisar), Dr. S.K.Sharma (Principal,College of Pharmacy, SGT University), Mr. Tarseem Jain (Editor, Pharma Pramarsh), Dr.Vandana Chaudhary (Assistant Professor, College of Pharmacy, SGT University). The guests were felicitated by presentation of fengshui by Honorable Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) A.K.Bakhshi.

Prof. (Dr.) A.K. Bakhshi, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, PDM University and Prof. (Dr.) Hema Chaudhary, Principal, PDM College of Pharmacy, Bahadurgarh in their welcome address emphasized the objective of seminar and sparkled the program by the warm welcome to all the dignitaries. In the welcome address Prof. (Dr.) A.K. Bakhshi discussed on the skill improvement,Self discipline and Self control to have a bright future.

Guest’s of Honour Mr. D.C. Jain (M.D, Akums Drugs & Pharmaceuticals) shared his views on growing pharma field and bright future of pharmacists. He also discussed about the maintenance of quality in production and dispensing.

 

Mr. P. K. Gupta (CMO, Belco, Pharma, Bahadurgarh) also emphasized about the various job avenues available in pharmacy and updated the students by giving them print outs of various job opportunities which the students could explore. Mr. Manmohan Taneja (Asst. Drugs Controller Officer, Haryana), Mr. Rakesh Dahiya (Senior Drugs Controller Officer, Haryana) encouraged students to be focused and hard working to be successful in life.

The scientific extract CD and Pharma buds annual edition was released by Guest’s of Honour and other dignitaries.

NFC chip (Near Field Communication) was also introduced for accessing pharma buds page and NFC coins were gifted to all the dignitaries. The recipients of Nandini Foundation Scholarship award was announced based on their academic performance and financial background. The recipients were Mr. Prabhsimran Singh of B .Pharm 4th year and Mr. Akshay Aggarwal of B.Pharm 3rd year. Scholarship cheques covering the annual fees were handed over to each one of them by Guests of Honour.

Awards were also presented by dignitaries to the students who achieved positions in academics, cultural, sports and other college events conducted throughout the year.

Mementos were presented by Prof. (Dr.) A.K. Bakhshi, Honorable Vice Chancellor, PDM  University to the Guest’s of Honour and special invitees. Prof.(Dr.) Hema Chaudhary presented a memento to Prof. (Dr.) A.K. Bakhshi, Honorable Vice Chancellor, PDM University. Prof.(Dr.) Hema Chaudhary, Principal purposed vote of thank.

Inaugural function was concluded by national Anthem.

The inaugural session was followed by scientific session.

The first session was chaired by Prof. (Dr.) Milind Parle (Head of Pharmacology, G.J.U.S&T, Hisar) and co chaired by Dr. Vandana Chaudhary (Assistant professor, SGT university), speaker Dr. D. Roy (Former Deputy Drug Controller Officer CDSCO North Zone) spoke on topic entitled “Quality Approach of 21st Century”

The second session was chaired by Dr. S.K. Sharma (Principal, College of Pharmacy, SGT University), Co-Chaired by speaker Dr. V. Kalaiselvan (Principal Scientific Officer, IPC) spoke on the topic “Pharmacists engagements in Pharmacovigilance programme of India”.

A parallel poster session was also conducted along with valedictory function where the scientific work was presented by delegates and evaluated by Prof. (Dr.) Milind Parle (Head of Pharmacology, G.J.U.S&T, Hisar) and Dr. S.K.Sharma (Principal, College of Pharmacy, SGT University). In open panel discussion   the students interacted with all the dignitaries and resource persons. Awards were presented by dignitaries to the students who had achieved meritorious positions in academic, cultural, sports and other college events conducted throughout the year.

The seminar ended with felicitation to students for best poster award.
