Induction Program for resident students – Day 1

PDM University is organising Induction Programme for the resident students from 20th to 24th August 2018. This year’s program is special as it has been conducted on a much large grander scale.


The first day program commenced in the Amphitheatre in evening. The resident students of all the three Halls of Residence – Sungate Hall, Moonlight Hall and Eventide Hall gathered at Amphitheatre.  The event witnessed the presence of Dean, Student’s Welfare, Prof. (Dr.) Hema Chaudhary, Chief Warden, Mr. Man Singh Sehrawat and Mr. Anil kumar (Warden of Sungate Hall), Mrs. Neema (Warden of Moonlight Hall).

The program was emceed by Mr. Siddharth Nigam and Ms. Sakshi. The program began with the Ganesh Vandana by Mr. Siddharth Nigam.


The senior students of Halls of Residence welcomed the freshers. One of the fresher Satyam from Kolkata quoted that, PDMU is a very great institution and he is very happy to study here. Through his shayris, he motivated the students to maintain their self-confidence and follow their dreams.


Mr. Martin, International Student from Ghana greeted the audience with a traditional “Namaste”. He appreciated PDM University for providing very good educational facility to the International Students. He ended by saying “Apka bohut bohut Dhanyawad” (thank you very much).

The Dean, Student’s Welfare welcomed all the new resident students of the University. She said that though we cannot, choose our family but the resident students have the choice to select a second family and can have a home away from home. She assured that the University will take every necessary step to make the stay of the each of the resident student comfortable. She updated the students that they can reach her through mail at dsw@pdm.ac.in.

She made the students aware about  the facilities available to them and about the new menu which will be taking care of students appetite as it is believe that “healthy mind arise from a healthy stomach”.

DSW introduce her team of Halls of Residence Administration to the students.

She announced that most talented Mr. and Ms. Resident student will be extended an appreciation award.

Chief Warden, Man Singh Sehrawat greeted the audience and told that he would expect all the students of the Halls of the Residence to maintain decorum and discipline.

During the introduction session the freshers were asked about their hobbies, talents, interests and their feelings regarding PDM University. The session was very interesting and the audience appreciated each and every participant by giving a big round of applause.

After the introduction session,  Gamocha (which is a symbol of Assamese culture) was gifted to D.S.W, Chief Warden and all the wardens as a mark of respect by an Assamese Student.

A group photograph was taken with senior students of all the Halls of Residents followed by a group photograph with all the new students of all the Halls.

 

The first day program concluded with National Anthem.
