Bachelor of Pharmacy 2020 Batch Orientation Program
The Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, PDM University organized the “Orientation Program” for the newly admitted students in “Bachelor of Pharmacy course” for session 2020-2021 on 5 November 2020 virtually on MS Teams. The esteemed event was graced with the presence of Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) A. K. Bakhshi, as Guest of Honor and Dean F/o Pharmaceutical Sciences, Prof. (Dr.) Hema Chaudhary along with faculty members and new aspiring pharmacists.
At the outset, the event started on MS Team and the student coordinators, Tanvi and Megha, students of 7th semester B. Pharm welcomed the dignitaries, staff, and students. Invoking the blessings of Goddess Saraswati, the program commenced with Saraswati Vandana, chanted by Ms. Sukriti Dubey, 7th semester, B. Pharm for seeking knowledge and wisdom.
Dean, F/o Pharmaceutical sciences Prof. (Dr.) Hema Chaudhary welcomed the cotorie of future pharmacists and emphasized on the rules and regulations of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences in her address. She further stated that as per the advice of the government, COVID-19 pandemic mandated a shift from classroom teaching to online learning, henceforth the current session is commencing with online classes on MS Teams. Hon’ble Vice Chancellor , Prof. (Dr.) A. K. Bakhshi in his address, welcomed the students who have chosen to be associated with this University and congratulated each one of them on having secured their places in the University. He expressed that the university is committed to provide the students with the best of the facilities, faculties, learning environment and professional experience along with the practical training. Dean, F/o Pharmaceutical Sciences signified the importance of Pharmacy as the career option through a powerpoint presentation to the newly joined students. Senior students expressed their zeal and enthusiasm by welcoming their juniors through the medium of video presentation. A welcome video signifying the importance of Pharmacy was played.
The alma mater was honored to welcome its illustrations alumni Mr. Bijay Gautam, co-founder of WYN studio and hosts one of the top podcasts in India- The Inspiring Talk. It was great pleasure to welcome another alumni Mr. Prabhsimran Singh currently associated with Eli Lilly. They expressed in their address the wide range of college activities both curricular and co-curricular are really helpful for the personal growth of the students. They inspired the students to broaden their horizon and help them evolve as responsible, confident and successful individual bolstered with many new skills.
Dean, F/o Pharmaceutical Sciences coordinated all aspects of co-curricular experiences through the video presentation. On behalf of the senior students, Mr. Aakash and Ms. Yashika, 5th semester, B. Pharm. delivered the welcome speech highlighting good academic exposure at F/o Pharmaceutical Sciences, PDMU.
The attraction of the Orientation Program was fulfilled through a light hearted song by Mr. Mayank, 5th Semester, B Pharm.
The teachers of F/o Pharmaceutical Sciences handling Bachelor of Pharmacy (1st year) went live with students on MS Teams and pledged to be their partners in their quest to reach their academic and personal goals.
Dean F/o Pharmaceutical Sciences appraised the students about the course and curriculum of Bachelor in Pharmacy, highlighting about the key features regarding annual scheme, sessional scheme, attendance criteria for the eligibility in appearing for the examination, promotion policy, examination scheme, timetable etc. The students were informed about the library facilities. She also presented the video prepared by the students of 7th semester showcasing all the activities and events taken place recently in Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences to make the newly admitted students aware of holistic development of our students.
The students were invited to clarify their queries through an open mic session. The event culminated by vote of thanks proposed by Ms. Tanvi. A group photograph was captured virtually on MS Team as the reminiscence of the phenomenal event. It was a memorable day for all the students. They were enthusiastic to see both educational and cultural heritage of this Faculty. They were ready and excited about this new chapter of their life. Last but not the least all the students were wished good luck for their future life ahead.
