Prof (Dr) Hema Chaudhary, Dean, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, PDMU delivered a talk as resource person during the One Day Conference at Vaish Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (VIPER), Rohtak

In view of 56th National Pharmacy Week (NPW) celebration, Vaish Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (VIPER) organized  One day conference on the theme, “Scope and Challenges in the Pharmacy Profession” on 06th December 2017 at Maharaja Agrasen Auditorium, Vaish Society Campus. Dean, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences and DSW, PDMU, Prof (Dr) Hema Chaudhary was invited as a Special Invitee. The Dean along with 40 students from Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences attended the Conference. All the students registered themselves by paying the registration fee.

The Chief Guest of the event Mr. P. K.  Gupta, Chairman, Belco- Pharma and the Guest of Honour Dr. Markanday Ahuja, Vice-Chancellor, Baba Masthnath University, Rohtak graced the dias. The event started by welcoming all the guests and invitees on the Dias. The invitees were greeted with floral accord. The Chief Guest along with all the dignitaries joined in lighting the lamp to mark the start of the event.  The blessings of Goddess Saraswati was invoked by reciting the saraswati vandana.

Dr. Ramchander Khartri, Principal, VIPER welcomed all the invitees.  The Dean, Faculty of Pharmaceutical sciences and DSW, PDMU, Prof (Dr) Hema Chaudhary on the behalf of all the Pharmacy colleges in Haryana was the resource person and addressed the gathering on the theme of the conference.  In her talk she focused on the recent challenges and scope of the Pharmacy profession and highlighted that “Scope relates to the professional, not to the profession”. She also emphasized the fact that in the 21st century the only way to excel is by continuous learning. She advised the budding pharmacists to know their capabilities, be motivated and have correct attitude in order to achieve their goals.  She quoted, “Success does not occur, it is created”.

Guest of Honor Dr. Markanday Ahuja, Vice-Chancellor, Baba  Masthnath University, Rohtak highlighted the purpose of the conferences in general. He addressed the students about the importance of Continuous Learning. He highlighted that “Self-introspection is the key to improve oneself”. He also mentioned the role of teacher in developing minds and providing wisdom to the budding pharmacists.

Chief Guest of the event, Mr. P.K. Gupta, Chairman, Belco Pharma shared his views on growing Pharma industy and bright future of Pharmacists. He also discussed about the contract manufacturing practice by MNCs from India as the cost of production abroad has increased and India is a cheaper option. He shared an example of an East African country such as Ethiopia who has offered Indian Pharmaceutical manufacturers to set up a Pharma-Park. He highlighted about the ample opportunities in future for the budding pharmacists. He advised students to set a goal and remain focused for the set aim.  He advised students to set a goal and remain focused for the set aim. He promised every possible support from Belco Pharma to students. He also offered a financial help of Rupees One lakh for a needy and deserving candidate of VIPER.

All the invitees were felicitated by presentation of mementos.
