Induction Program for the Session 2018-19 Starts @ PDMU
PDM University is organizing a week-long Induction Program for the graduate and under graduate students at Amphitheatre from August 20-24, 2018. The first day of Induction program was inaugurated with lighting of lamp in front of Goddess Ma Saraswati by the Vice Chancellor and Pro Vice Chancellor. Welcome speech given by senior students Deepanshu and Niloy Banarjee both. Manoj, a senior student expressed his wonderful experience in his mother language Telugu. Courage, a foreign student of Ghana shared his experience about PDM University.
Vice Chancellor of PDM University Prof. (Dr.) A.K. Bakhshi gave the Mantra for Success to the students that they must believe in themselves without underestimating. He addressed a huge gathering of new enrolled students and parents on the occasion of Induction Program held at Amphitheater, PDM University campus on 20th August, 2018. Prof. (Dr.) A.K. Bakhshi said that the main purpose of Induction Program is to ensure to familiarize the university culture and system with students. University education is golden period of any student’s life. It is concerned with empowering students for their all-round development. Prof. Bakhshi further elaborated that university is focused on quality education with competent faculty, quality infrastructure, tool of learning resources but it is not possible without brilliant students.
Vice Chancellor emphasized on immediate aim of students i.e. learning. He said that Desire is not enough; Self-motivation and self-determination are an indispensable component to achieve extraordinary results. Prof. Bakhshi discussed about the important requirements of changing world including soft skills and time management. He said that we all do have 24 hours and we should understand the importance of time. He discussed about critical thinking, reasoning, analysis and presentation. He said that logically and systematically communication is a big asset. Prof. Bakhshi stressed on three most important learning in the student life, i.e, Value System, National Spirit and Oratory Skills.
Pro Vice Chancellor, PDM University Prof. (Dr.) R.C. Bhattacharjee said that University is the best learning place for all students. He informed the new students that 75 programs are offered by the university and curriculum for all the programs is designed as per latest industry standards. Prof. Bhattacharjee stressed that students should utilize their time effectively and efficiently and study hard. PVC informed that across all the programs, a total of 2000 students got enrolled. He attributed this great progress and achievement to the hard work and dedication shown by all staffs and faculties.
Dean Students Welfare addressed the gathering and spoke about the salient features and journey of PDM University. On this occasion, senior students performed several energetic Punjabi Folk and Western Dances. After the inaugural function of Induction Program, all the freshers got registered and enrolled themselves in their respective courses and received their ID cards. All Deans, HoDs, teaching and non-teaching staff, new students and their parents were present during the program. The first day of a week-long Induction Program ends with blessings and good wishes for the new students.
