PROGRAMME OVERVIEW
Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) in Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics is a three year postgraduate program in dentistry that focuses on the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of dental caries and other tooth-related problems. This program is designed to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and practical experience required to provide advanced dental care to patients.
Conservative dentistry involves the preservation of natural teeth by using minimally invasive techniques, such as fillings, inlays, onlays, and veneers. Endodontics, on the other hand, is the study and treatment of dental pulp and the tissues surrounding the root of the tooth. This includes the diagnosis and treatment of dental infections, root canal therapy, and other procedures to treat damaged or diseased teeth.
COURSE HIGHLIGHTS
The program curriculum includes both theoretical and practical training in various aspects of conservative dentistry and endodontics, including cavity preparation, pulp therapy, root canal treatment, dental trauma management, and restorative procedures.
Students in the program also gain extensive experience in the diagnosis and treatment of various dental conditions, as well as the use of advanced equipment and technologies in dental procedures. They learn about the latest developments in dental materials and techniques, and how to apply these to provide high-quality dental care to patients.
Graduates of the MDS program in Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics have a wide range of career opportunities in both the public and private sectors. They can work as consultants in dental clinics and hospitals, or they can start their own private practices. They can also pursue careers in research and academics, or they can work as dental educators.
