PDM bags third position in Imagine Cup National Final 2016
Imagine Cup is the world largest techno driven competition organized by the Microsoft all over the world in which students from different universities across the world participate in to show up their creativity and innovation.
This year three teams from PDM College of Engineering got selected in the National Finals of India which was held in JW Marriott, Delhi Aerocity, IGI Airport, New Delhi on 22nd April 2016 . Team “RAVE” in World Citizenship Category, team “Imagine Twister” in the gaming category, and team “Liberal” in the Innovation category. All these teams were among top 10 teams selected from all over the nation.
Beginning with team “RAVE” under category World citizenship which had Vivek and Ritesh. They designed a smart suit which works at the time of accident by acting as an airbag to protect the rider. The suit sends an images of the accidental area from front and rear sided, and also the GPS location to a Doctor nearby so that help can be provided to the victim as soon as possible
The team “Imagine Twister” which had Stephen Simon and Neetu Khatra as the team members developed a game named as “HomeLess at Home” which described about industralisation and modernization has probed the lives of tribal all over the world in the name of economic development. The game was integrated with the “Arduino” which helped the
player to play and the game wirelessly and a photodiode to change the weather the according to the real time
environment. The Game was also facilitated with the “Hololens” which would take the into a virtual world and get an amazing 3D experience.
Team “Liberal” under the Innovation category which had Kunal Malhotra, Surendera Singh Chabra, Raghav Malhotra and Samir Jamdagni as the team members created a project Named “MB-Touch “ which solves the problems commuters face in travelling daily. The idea abolishes the use of plastics as tickets and introduces a new way of ticketing and other transactions by means of Biometrics. The project includes a website, a universal windows application and 3 windows form application. The idea was to give people a new travelling companion.
The best part the competition was that the team “Liberal” got third position in the India National Finals and the made the college proud and continued the trend to win Imagine Cup for the second time which was set by team “Osiris Down” in Imagine Cup – 2015.
