PDMU Students Win Laurels at Remote Sensing and GIS Course

Two Post Graduate students from Department of Geography, PDM University, Mr. Jeremiah Gyasi Boahen and Miss Nadia Tema Bruce have excelled in the Six Weeks Summer Training Course (June 04, 2018 to July 12, 2018) on “Remote Sensing and GIS” at Haryana Space Application Centre (HARSAC). This course was sponsored by ISRO-NNRMS, Department of Space, Government of India.

Both the students went through a stringent recruitment process based on merit and were selected to be part of the 40 qualified P.G. students from various universities across the state and India. They have acquired a great deal of knowledge, practical skills, and experience during the technical training.

Mr. Jeremiah Gyasi Boahen stood First (1st) Rank in Project Report Presentation on Land Use Change in a region of Haryana. Also, based upon attendance, written test and practical, he was graded as Excellent in the training course and was awarded a prize and certificate to this effect. Miss Nadia Tema Bruce also performed very well and based on the same criteria of assessment was ranked third (3rd) out of 40 participants. She was awarded a prize and a certificate to that effect.

Jeremiah was also called upon voluntarily to give a closing remark on the entire training of Remote Sensing and Geographical Information System (GIS).

This achievement of Mr. Jeremiah Gyasi Boahen and Miss Nadia Tema Bruce has put PDM University on a map of the region as a new place to study various aspects of Geography.
