PDMU VC at the Festival of Thoughts
PDM University Vice-Chancellor Prof. A. K. Bakhshi was invited to deliver the Inaugural Online Talk on 18th April 2022 for the students and teachers of Guru Nanak Girls College, Yamunanagar. This talk was arranged as a part of the one-week Festival of Thoughts organized by the Department of Life Sciences of the college. Prof. Bakhshi spoke on “Education for Holistic Development and Wellbeing in the 21st Century.”
Also present on the occasion were Dr. Varinder Gandhi, Director of the college, Dr. Gurinderjit Kaur, Mrs. Tarandeep Kaur, Mrs. Deepika Sharma and other invited guests.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Bakhshi said that intellectual growth of an individual commences at birth and ceases only at death. One learns from three types of education viz. formal, informal and non-formal ones and through three domains of learning viz. cognitive, affective and psychomotor domains. He said that in order to enhance one’s competence in the 21st century, one needs knowledge, 21st century skills and proactive personality traits.
