Prof. Bakhshi inaugurates DST sponsored Science Inspire Camp
PDM University Vice-Chancellor Prof. A. K. Bakhshi was the Chief Guest at the inauguration of the DST sponsored Science Inspire Camp organized by Columbia College of Pharmacy, Raipur on 12th November 2019. Nearly 200 students attended this camp. Also present on the occasion were Mr. Kishore Jadwani, Chairman JPES, Mr. Harjeet Singh Hura, Secretary JPES, Prof. N K Mondal former Professor of TIFR and Mr. Surendra Saraf, Principal of the College and Coordinator of the Program amongst others.
On this occasion Prof. Bakhshi gave some very useful tips to the students on how to excel in Chemistry in the 21st Century. Prof. Bakhshi told the students that chemistry knowledge is growing very fast and that because of this growth, many new branches/sub-disciplines of chemistry are emerging. The students should focus on clarity of concepts and do out-of-box thinking so that they become more creative and innovative. He also gave some tips for becoming more creative and innovative. These include amongst others: Change your daily routine; Devote some time for creative thinking; overcome fear of failure and be a keen observer etc.
Later during the day Prof. Bakhshi delivered a Popular Lecture for both students and faculty members on “Towards Excellence in Basic Sciences in the 21st Century : Challenges and Opportunities” at Pt. Ravishankar Shukla University, Raipur. Also present on the occasion were Hon’ble VC Prof. Verma, Prof. K K Ghosh and other top officials of the University.
