Seminar on Skill Development & Role of Entrepreneurship
The department of Computer Science & Engineering organized a seminar on “Skill Development & Role of Entrepreneurship” on 18th January 2023 in the G-4 Hall. The event was organized for 1st and 2nd year of B.Tech CSE students and hosted by 2nd year of B.Tech CSE student Ms. Kanishka Kumar.
The seminar was organized to spread knowledge among students about how they can choose Entrepreneurship as a profitable and parallel career choice. The event started by welcoming Dr. Jasvinder Kaur, Head of the CSE department, Ms. Diksha Chawla, Technical Coordinator and other faculty members and host welcomed Mr. Sahil Gandhi, Founder and Chief mentor at Myskilly. He is also an established author of the book titled: THE INTURN. He has successfully delivered thousands of pep talks, conferences & workshops in different states of India.
To give a prestigious start to the event Dr. Jasvinder Kaur gave briefing about the event and emphasized on importance of skill development.
And then Mr. Sahil Gandhi took over and started the seminar, telling students the need for change and how setting up a strong foundation is crucial.
He told students how 21st century skills were also recommended by CBSE, UNICEF and the world economic forum and introduced Beyond Academics. We learnt lessons from the mumbai attack, how it left an impact on everyone. He discussed the five main elements one should know to have success in their career.
Also told us about the very common mistakes students make in their teens or 20’s and how we can prevent them from happening.He guided us how we can choose entrepreneurship as a career and be our own boss. We also discussed the condition of everyone post COVID, how it made a huge impact on everyone’s source of income and brought a huge change in everyone’s life and further discussing about all the aspects of entrepreneurship it’s advantages and disadvantages. Also, learned a lot about business, the pros and cons and the characteristics of business.
He then told us about his own ed-tech company Myskilly where he empowers the young minds with the 21st century skills for personal and professional development. At last, he closed his session with some of his personal experiences and learning.
To honor Mr. Sahil Gandhi our Head of the department Dr. Jasvinder Kaur said a few words and then Dr. Jasvinder Kaur and Ms. Diksha Chawla, Technical Coordinator, CSE gave him a memento and thanked him for giving all the students such a great session.
The event was concluded with a vote of thanks by the Head, CSE department to the student coordinators and faculty coordinators Ms. Diksha Chawla , Ms. Vaishali Sharma and student Coordinators.
