Seminar on Women Pharmacist : Value and Voice in Global Health Scenario

One day seminar on “Women Pharmacist: Value and Voice in Global Health Scenario” was organized on 1st April 2016 at PDM College of Pharmacy, Bahadurgarh under leadership of Prof. Hema Chaudhary, Principal, PDM College of Pharmacy, Bahadurgarh. Prof. Hema Chaudhary in her welcome address emphasized the objective of seminar and sparkled the program by the warm welcome to all the dignitaries. In her address she emphasized that the aim of the seminar is to empower women pharmacist so that they can contribute for the profession. She also introduced and presented momentos to the Guest of Honor Mr. P. K. Gupta (M.D. Belco Pharma, Bahadurgarh) and Mr. T.C. Kansal (M.D. Crystal Pharmaceuticals). The Key note speaker Dr. Harvinder Popli (M.D. Zandria Farmaceutica) along with Dr. Kanchan Kohli (Associate Professor, Jamia Hamdard) and Dr. D. Roy, (Former Drug Controller of India). Special Invitee Dr. Dhirender Kaushik, (President APTI, Haryana) and poster evaluators from M.D.U.,Rohtak,Pt. B.D. Sharma University of Health Sciences, Rohtak & GJUS&T, Hisar graced the occasion.

Students attending seminar

Nandini Foundation Scholarship was announced for needy and meritorious students. The recipients of the scholarship award for the performance in the April 2015 exam were Mr. Prabhsimran Singh of B .Pharm 3rd year and Sonam of B.Pharm 1st year. Scholarship cheques for Rs. 82,230/- each were handed over to them by Guest of Honour.

Special Invitees

Dr. Dhirender Kaushik President APTI, Haryana said that the event was the first of its kind in the state to witness a seminar under APTI, Women sHaryana forum. Awards were presented by dignitaries to the students who achieved positions in academics, cultural and other college events conducted throughout the year.

The inaugural session concluded with vote of thank by Prof. Hema Chaudhary to the Guest of Honor for their benign presence and support, Speakers, Poster Evaluators and Invites, Management PDM Group of Instituition, faculty and student volunteers and last but not the least to media for their event coverage.

The inaugural session was followed by scientific session where the talk of key note speaker Dr. Harvinder Popli on topic entitled “Empowerment, Role of women pharmacist in India”, was followed by the talk by Dr. Kanchan Kholi on topic entitled “Pharmaceutical Research in India and Modern System”.

Post lunch parallel poster session was conducted along with the technical session by Dr. D. Roy on topic entitled “Quality Approach a challenge for women pharmacist”.

The seminar ended with felicitation to student for best poster and evaluators during the valedictory function.
