Teacher’s Day celebration
“Teachers are the torch bearers of the gen-next”. Teachers day is celebrated to show the acknowledgement and recognition of the hard work put in by the teachers towards the student development.
Teacher’s Day was celebrated in PDM University by the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences along with Faculty of Life Sciences and Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences from 2:00 P.M onwards on 5th September, in the reception area of Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences. The ChiefPatron of the event was Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, PDMU Prof. Dr. A. K. Bakshi along with other dignitaries such as Hon’ble Pro-Vice Chancellor, PDMU Prof. Dr. R. C. Bhattacharjee, Dean Academic affairs, PDMU Prof. Dr. Paramjeet Singh and Heads of Faculty of Life Sciences and Humanities and Social Sciences, PDMU. The event was hosted by Dean and DSW, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences Prof. Dr. Hema Chaudhary. The event was emceed by Mansi Sharma, Niloy Banerjee, Ruchika Khachroo and Himanshi Sehgal. The event started with presenting floral bouquets to the dignitaries.
The Dean, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences Dr Hema Chaudhary welcomed all the guests and highlighted that “a mediocre teacher tells, the good teacher explains, the superior teacherdemonstrates and the great teacher inspires”.
Prof. Dr. A.K. Bakshi, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, PDMU stated that “a student can make many mistakes but can’t make a mistake in choosing a good teacher”. He emphasized the importance of learning by out of box thinking and also made students aware about the Digital India Awareness programme started by Government of India and the availability of MOOCS to felicitate learningHe highlighted the significance of ICT skills in teaching profession to keep abreast with the modern system of learning. He also stressed that a teacher can improvise by the feedback of the students.
Dr. R. C. Bhattacharjee, Pro Vice Chancellor, PDMU highlighted the role of teacher as Guru who paves the path for all other profession. The importance of the event was marked by Cake cutting ceremony by Hon’ble guests and unveiling the collage presented by students as token of respect to their dearest teachers.

The event progressed by a musical performance of 1st yr B.Pharma students. A video was prepared by the students covering all the previous events hosted in Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences as tribute to the teachers was played in the background on digital LED. All the dignitaries and faculty members were presented gifts by students, as a small token of respect. In order to strengthen the teacher-student relationship a sapling was planted by Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, PDMU Prof. A.K. Bakshi.
Various games were organized for teachers and the winner was presented a prize. The event came to an end by worthy words by an Alumni of Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences Mr. Abhijeet Debonath and the host Mansi Sharma.
