World Pharmacist Day 2016
PDM College of Pharmacy celebrated World Pharmacist Day with great enthusiasm on 23rd September, 2016. Dignitaries from various Pharmaceutical Sectors were present who shared their insights with students at PDMCOP. The program was emceed by Mansi Sharma and Himanshi Sehgal. Chief Guest and Guest of Honour of the Program was Sh. S.L. Nasa and Dr. D.P. Pathak respectively. Celebration started with lamp lighting by Guests of the event and Saraswati Vandana followed by presenting them floral bouquet and Momentos by respected Principal of the college Dr. Hema Chaudhary followed by her welcome speech.
Sh. S.L. Nasa highlighted the role of pharmacists in healthcare, medicare and society. He also enlighted about Drug and Cosmetic act whereas he also briefed audience about the changes supposed in drug and cosmetic act for the betterment of pharmacy practice.
Sh. S.L. Nasa also inspired budding pharmacists to abide by pharmaceutical code of conduct and ethics. He also presented a power point presentation on World Pharmacists Day by putting light on history, FIP theme and Introduction of World Pharmacists Day.
Guest of Honour Dr. D.P. Pathak started by introducing himself as a proud pharmacist and wished audience a very happy world pharmacists day 2016. He felt very grateful to Dr. Hema Chaudhary for inviting them for the event where all students are dressed up uniformly in white lab coats that marks the dedication towards profession.
Highlight of the event was launch of PharmaBuds Magazine, PharmaBuds Calendar and PharmaBuds World Pharmacists Day dedicated movie. Launch of PharmaBuds calendar and PharmaBuds Magazine was accompanied by a short movie enlisting features of calendar and Magazine. Followed by the same Dedicated Movie was screened which was designed to broadcast role of Pharmacist in Health sector which was appreciated by audience.
Mr. Abhijit Debnath of M.Pharm delivered a small speech and expressed his views about Pharmacists Day. The program came to an end when all attendees took pharmacist’s oath by drawing hand in front.
All the guests and principal of the college praised the efforts put on by PharmaBuds Volunteers in making this ceremony a grand success.
