Science Exhibition Pharma Quest in view of National Science Day on 28^th February 2017.

Event Report:

On the occasion of National Science Day, PDMCOP and PDM University jointly organized “PHARMA QUEST” – a science exhibition on 28^th February 2017 at PDM Campus.

The event started with the welcome address by Dr. Hema Chaudhary, Principal PDMCOP.  She highlighted that the students of PDM College of Pharmacy have applied their knowledge and skills by showing active participation in the National Science Day celebration.The Chief Guest of the event, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of PDM University and Special Invitee of the event, Pro Vice Chancellor of PDM University were felicitated by Principal, PDM College of Pharmacy by presenting them a floral bouquet’s and memento’s.

The Chief Guest of the event, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of PDM University in his address motivated students to have out of the box thinking and come up with innovative ideas.

He encouraged students to have aspiration to venture into research and apply the knowledge and skills. He made students aware about the significance of celebrating Science Day and appreciated the sincere efforts of students. He motivated them by quoting examples of various Nobel Laureates. He stressed that India has the youth that can excell in field of science and technology effeciently.

The special invitee Dr. Ishwar Singh, Pro Vice Chancellor of PDMU highlighted in his address about the Raman effect, discovered by Sir C.V. Raman.

The Chief Guest, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of PDM University inaugurated exhibition by cutting the ribbon. Around 200 students of PDM College of Pharmacy participated in the Pharma Quest and demonstrated around 93 models. Students and faculty of various PDM Group of Institutions witnessed the exhibition and interacted with the participants.  A panel of Jury evaluated the projects and best 03 projects were adjudged 1^st, 2^nd and 3^rd positions.

1^st Prize was conferred to:

Magnetic Targeted Drug system – Himanshu and Akshay

2^nd Prize was shared amongst:

• Industrial Flood Control Technique by Niloy and Sumit
• Anti-Abuse effect by Jay and Mayank.

3^rd Prize was shared amongst:

• Oil Separator by Deepak, Shivam and Sakshi
• Selvage Treatment Plant by Nitin, Vishal and Sahil

A special appreciation prize was conferred to the project on How depression effect brain by Devi Prasad Jaiswal.

In the valedictory function Hon’ble Vice Chancellor distributed the certificates to the winners, participants and volunteers. He appreciated students for their over whelming response and contribution to science. He also congratulated organizers and students for their hard work and grand success of the event.
